Day 3 - Watoto Church and Bbira

Hello to all!

I believe today was the most interesting of days yet. This morning we journeyed over to Watoto Church for worship and some good word. The worship was amazing. I think we all needed the refreshment that comes while in the presence of God.

Watoto Church!

Exciting Situation #1
As worship transitioned into announcements, sparks started flying a few rows back. People moved from right below the projector that had a small flickering flame coming from the top of it. Many of us were amazed at the response of the church. The majority of the congregation calmly stayed in the building; whereas, in the States, people would be fleeing the scene. The congregation continued to worship as the church staff took care of the problem and the pastor went up to teach on living your faith from conviction rather than convenience. Good word!

Exciting Situation #2
One of the host families we had lunch with!
Following the service, we went to Bbira, the children’s village where they have almost 1,000 kids living in homes and going to school. There we met the families we would be joining for a Ugandan lunch. We had been advised to complete the meal in respect and honor for the house mom and family.  Each meal was interesting to say the least. Mine included unknown meat and rice, yams, mashed steamed bananas, green beans, and this purple sauce. We each made it through the meals with many laughs, thankful hearts, and smiles on our faces. Praise God!!

Playing with the kids and getting to know the moms after lunch was so so sweet. They were beyond blessed for us simply loving them. We are all realizing the simplicity of Christ and the power that comes from loving on His people.

The kids LOVE having their pictures taken!
Immanuel took the camera and took almost all the pictures in today's blog... :)

One of the house moms - they're amazing!

We love your prayers and are so appreciative. Keep them coming! Please pray for our hearts to be open to what the Lord is doing in our lives, continued health, greater team unity, and for a blessed and safe time as we start building the classrooms. Your prayers are powerful and effective. Thank you!!

Love you guys!
